TUPELO, Miss. — The Supreme Court ruled into effect an Idaho law protecting children from life-changing gender-transitioning procedures as well as puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. Following the news of the ruling, legacy media outlets such as NBC News, CBS, and Axios used specific language such as “transgender minors” and “gender-affirming care” in an effort to shift viewpoints on the issue. Many called out these media outlets, stating that the language used makes it clear there is a bias being shared to their audiences.
In an effort to educate Americans on the radical left’s indoctrination of mainstream media, Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the Government Affairs Affiliate of the American Family Association, discredited how the media is discussing gender-transitioning procedures for minors as they are not showing the dark side of the harmful side-effects and irreversible harms that come along with these procedures.
“AFA Action strongly denounces the legacy media’s deceptive portrayal of gender ‘affirming’ care for minors,” says Wildmon. “These portrayals distort the truth about the irreversible harms caused by sex-change surgeries and puberty blockers. As Christians, we stand firm on the biblical truths affirming each person’s God-given identity of male or female and reject any narrative promoting confusion about gender. It is our moral duty to protect children's innocence and well-being by exposing the lies and dangers of these procedures. It is also important to affirm God’s created order to anyone who may be confused. We call on every parent, educator, and policymaker to uphold the dignity of each boy and girl and band together to safeguard our children from the wicked gender ideology agenda.
“Every child deserves to grow up knowing their true identity as fearfully and wonderfully made by God, without being subjected to harmful interventions that contradict their inherent design. It is clear that the radical Left and mainstream media’s contradictory messaging proclaiming gender ‘affirming’ care for minors is only affirming their agenda, which is blatantly against genuine care for minors and promotes an agenda of physiological and psychological destruction.”
