TUPELO, Miss. — The CDC and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics released their report on 2023 birth rates, recording the lowest number in decades. Researchers have seen “larger declines in the past” in which the current declining rates fit the “general pattern.” The report also found a decline in the rate of teenage births in which birth rates have been gradually shifting toward women in their 30s.
AFA Action, the government affairs affiliate of American Family Association, is urging Americans to stand strong amidst the forces in our nation threatening God’s gift of procreation.
“The declining birth rate in America is deeply concerning,” says AFA Action CEO Walker Wildmon. “This trend not only threatens the future of our nation, but it also points out an alarming correlation with the aggressive promotion of LGBTQ+ ideologies that contradict God’s design for family and procreation. Scripture affirms that ‘children are a heritage from the Lord’ (Psalm 127:3), and by undermining the biblical model of family — comprising one man and one woman — our society diminishes the likelihood of childbirth and the subsequent nurturing of life as ordained by God. AFA Action stands firm in our commitment to uphold family values, and we call on all to resist cultural currents that attempt to divert us from the fruitful multiplication intended by our Creator, thereby securing both our heritage and a robust future for generations to come.”
