TUPELO, Miss. — AFA Action’s Center for Judicial Renewal (CJR) firmly opposes the nomination of Rebecca Taibleson to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
CJR researched Ms. Taibleson, who has received a ranking of “priority stop” due to a number of concerns that appear on her record. Taibleson and her husband have donated to Democrat politicians, are members of or affiliated with a politically liberal congregation that promotes LGBTQ+ ideologies, abortion and leftist “Get out the Vote” partnerships, and appear to have had their wedding officiated by a rabbi who now serves at a pro-LGBT congregation. Taibleson also donated to the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, which promotes liberal positions on transgenderism, marriage, life and other issues, and was reportedly jointly recommended for nomination by the bipartisan judicial nominating commission of Senators Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI).
Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, commented on Taibleson’s nomination:
“Taibleson is a disappointing nominee and does not meet the constitutionalist standard for nomination to a federal circuit court,” said Wildmon. “CJR joins countless other conservative leaders and groups in opposing Ms. Taibleson’s nomination, particularly given the availability of other exceptional prospects. This nomination poses an unacceptable risk to constitutionalism, and highlights the importance of CJR’s work: performing thorough research on judicial prospects and all pending nominees to the federal courts, and recommending only the finest constitutionalist prospects with a demonstrable record of commitment to the Constitution and the proper role of judges for elevation to the distinguished federal bench.”
