TUPELO, Miss. — According to recent reports, the White House directed its main biomedical research agency, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), to study the psychological effects of children who underwent a gender transition. Nature, a scientific journal, claimed that the government is interested in two areas of study: “regret and detransition following social transition as well as chemical and surgical mutilation of children and adults,” and “outcomes from children who have undergone social transition and/or chemical and surgical mutilation.”
Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, commends the Trump administration for taking the necessary steps to expose the harmful truths behind “gender-affirming” treatment.
“For years, the federal government has recklessly and deliberately funded radical gender experiments on children while refusing to examine or acknowledge the consequences,” said Wildmon. “Now, under the Trump administration, that’s finally changing. Researching detransition and trans regret isn’t hateful; it’s responsible and necessary. When minors are pumped full of hormones and surgically mutilated and altered, the public deserves to know the truth of the long-term fallout. A 30-year study in Sweden — one of the most ‘gender-affirming’ countries in the world — found that individuals who underwent sex-reassignment surgery were 20 times more likely to die by suicide than their peers.
“Regret is not rare, and a growing number of detransitioners are coming forward with stories of being misled, harmed and left without support. The media and activists have pushed a carefully crafted narrative to support their agenda while silencing any research and testimony that challenges it, but the growing detransitioner movement is exposing the devastating truth behind their so-called ‘affirming care.’ The left is panicking because they know what that truth will expose — and that it won’t justify the damage they’ve done.”
