TUPELO, Miss. — In addition to the traditional Sego Lily Flag, Salt Lake City has formally adopted transgender and progress pride flags to its new lineup of city flags. These three new flags were adopted to celebrate what the authorities called “‘human rights’: the ‘Sego Celebration Flag,’ marking Juneteenth; the Sego Belonging Flag,’ representing the city’s LGBT-identified residents; and the Sego Visibility Flag, to demonstrate the city’s ‘commitment to seeing and celebrating transgender-identified residents.’” According to Salt Lake City officials, the flags will fly beside the American and the State of Utah flags.
Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, is calling on the Salt Lake City legislature to address this violation of state law.
“Salt Lake City just proved that when the Left can’t get their radical agenda through the front door, they’ll shove it through a side window,” said Wildmon. “By twisting city policy to make transgender and pride flags ‘official,’ they are skirting state law and turning government property into a billboard for radical sexual ideology. This move isn’t a gesture of unity; it’s a calculated display of ideological power that celebrates immoral and deviant behavior. Utah passed a state law to protect government buildings from activism, and Salt Lake City’s response was to skirt this law. The state legislature should intervene and correct this clear undermining of state statute.”
