AFA Action CEO Walker Wildmon: ‘Americans deserve secure, transparent elections — and Virginia just took a strong step in the right direction’

TUPELO, Miss. Last Wednesday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear an emergency challenge from the state of Virginia, temporality halting a lower court order that blocked Virginia from continuing its voter removal program. Days before, Virginia filed the appeal to stop the lower court’s decision to reinstall the names of approximately 1,600 voters back on the voter rolls. Virginia Governor, Glenn Youngkin, described the Supreme Court’s decision as a “Victory for commonsense and election fairness.”

Just days before one of the biggest elections in the country’s history, it is crucial that government leaders protect the rights of American voters, deterring all means of election fraud and interference.

Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, applauds Governor Youngkin for taking a stand to protect voter’s rights.

“The Supreme Court’s halt on reinstating Virginia’s voter rolls is a crucial stand for election integrity and common sense,” says Wildmon. “Governor Youngkin’s swift action protects the voting rights of American citizens from bureaucratic overreach by the DOJ. Any move that dilutes citizens’ votes threatens the very core of our constitutional republic. Americans deserve secure, transparent elections — and Virginia just took a strong step in the right direction.”
