TUPELO, Miss. — A recent Pew Research Center study found that 80% of American adults said that religion is losing influence in public life. While many feel that religion may be losing its influence, the findings of the study stated that adults are yearning for the positive impact that is associated with religion. Many Americans, religious and non-religious, feel that their religious beliefs put them at odds with culture, their peers, and the opposing side of the political spectrum.
Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the Government Affairs Affiliate of the American Family Association, urges Americans to champion policies that continue in the steps of the country’s founding principles to ensure that religion stays affluent in public life.
“This research underscores the urgent need to reaffirm the vital role of faith in shaping societal values,” says Wildmon. “This is why AFA Action remains dedicated in its mission to uphold life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all citizens, rooted in biblical teachings and constitutional principles. I urge Americans to stand firm in the shifting sands of our culture and advocate for policies in alignment with our country’s foundational principles to safeguard religious freedom for future generations, ensuring the preservation of America’s Judeo-Christian heritage.”
