Homeschooling and Christian high school students more likely to attend church and keep faith

TUPELO, Miss. — A recent Cardus Education Survey reported that Americans who attended three or more years of high school either in a Catholic school or are homeschooled are more likely to attend church and practice their faith. “Consistent with previous administrations of [this survey], faith formation is the domain in which the strongest evidence for sector-level effects can be observed, with a clear benefit to respondents who graduated from Protestant schools or were homeschooled,” the survey reported. Graduates from these schools are also more likely to attain a graduate degree, have higher income levels, and have higher rates of charitable giving and volunteering.

“The numbers don’t lie: children in homeschooling or Christian schools have a stronger tendency to keep their faith, value strong families and contribute to society — while public schools funded by our tax dollars are pushing woke ideology that erodes these foundations and confuses the minds of our children,” said Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association. “This is more than an education issue; it is a fight for the future of our nation. America’s declining faith and values are directly tied to a government-controlled education system that prioritizes relativism over truth. School choice is essential, not optional. Parents must have the power to exercise their God-appointed right to protect their children from dangerous agendas infiltrating schools. Woke ideology has no place in any classroom, whether public or private. Saving our nation starts with taking back education.”
