TUPELO, Miss. — The Trump administration’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently published a review pointing out the lack of scientific evidence supporting treatment for pediatric gender dysphoria. HHS reveals how the supposed benefits of gender transition treatments for minors are unclear and acknowledges the risk of “significant harms” in using physical child sex-change interventions. “The ‘gender-affirming’ model of care includes irreversible endocrine and surgical interventions on minors with no physical pathology,” states the report. The review goes on further to state that ‘vulnerable’ children are being failed by medical associations that are providing sex-change treatments.
Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, commented on the review, urging that these dangerous treatments must come to an end before more of America’s children are left with irreversible harm.
“The Trump administration’s HHS just confirmed what parents and detransitioners have been shouting from the rooftops: these so-called ‘treatments’ aren’t just unethical — they’re indefensible. Child sex-change procedures are built on junk science and driven by political pressure, not medical truth. Major medical associations have caved to radical ideology, and children are paying the price with their bodies and their futures. This is not healthcare — it’s an irreversible harm that must be stopped.”
