TUPELO, Miss. — According to a new Gallup study, the Republican party’s backing for same-sex “marriage” has fallen 14 percentage points over the past three years, the lowest level since the legalization of same-sex “marriage’ in 2016. In 2021 and 2022, 55% of Republican voters stated that marriages between same-sex couples should be recognized by the law as valid and that they should be given the same rights as those in traditional marriages; this number of voters has now fallen to 41%.
With the Republican party breaking its silence to defend the sacred and godly covenant of marriage, Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, is hopeful this new wave in the party will continue to protect traditional marriage rooted in scripture.
“After a decade of being told to sit down and be quiet, Republican voters are letting their voices be heard in opposition to the lie that marriage can be redefined,” said Wildmon. “This Gallup poll signals a growing backlash to the cultural rot that ‘Pride Month’ tries to sanctify. Marriage isn’t a trend or a political prop — it is a God-ordained institution. The American family depends on our willingness to defend it, even when it’s unpopular. The momentum is shifting.”
