TUPELO, Miss. — A three-judge panel for the Fourth Circuit of Appeals recently ended a lower court blockade on President Trump’s measures to remove DEI programs in federal contracting. The preliminary injunction, issued by Maryland District Judge Adam Abelson, sought to prevent the enforcement of the provisions that were part of two executive orders the President signed after taking office. “Those directives instructed executive agencies to terminate federal contracts and grants for DEI-related programs,” The Federalist noted.
Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, says the court’s ruling upholds the Constitution’s rightful legal standing.
“This ruling is a clear win for equal treatment under the law and a setback for the activist use of DEI as a government mandate,” said Wildmon. “President Trump has every right — and responsibility — to ensure federal contracting is based on merit, not race-based preferences. The Fourth Circuit saw through the legal maneuvering and correctly found that these challenges lacked standing from the start. This decision reaffirms that federal power cannot be hijacked to advance divisive agendas without legal grounding. It’s a reminder that courts exist to uphold the Constitution, not protect ideological favoritism.”
