TUPELO, Miss. — According to a recent Gallup poll, more Americans than ever have a positive view of socialism, with 43% viewing it favorably for the first time since 2010. Gallup’s findings reveal a significant decline in how Americans view big business, free enterprise and capitalism; small business is the only category that has not lost support.
“The increase in socialism’s positive rating through 2025 was largely due to the views of Democrats, rising from 50% in 2010 to 66% last year. However, this year’s increase is due to political independents, according to Gallup, whose positive rating jumped from 37% in 2025 to 45%,” Fox News reported.
Walker Wildmon, CEO of AFA Action, the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association, says the Gallup poll reveals alarming data for parents and pastors, and underscores the need for today’s youth to learn the dangers of socialism.
“Forty-three percent of Americans say they view socialism as positive, and that should alarm every parent and pastor in this country,” said Wildmon. “Socialism has been tested and has resulted in poverty, a lack of necessities and a loss of freedom. Socialism takes away your freedom and hands control to the government. America was built on hard work, faith and the freedom to build a better life for your family — not on handouts from Washington. We must teach the next generation the truth about socialism before they trade their freedom for empty promises.”
