WASHINGTON — With national midterms rapidly approaching, many Christians are wondering whether their individual votes will make a difference. Recent statistics from famed pollster Dr. George Barna and iVoterGuide (iVoterGuide.com) revealed that one in six Americans think their votes don’t matter, causing many to refrain from utilizing their civic duty altogether. What many citizens don’t understand is that not only does every single vote matter, but every race on the ballot has the ability to impact future generations.

“The future of this nation can come down to one singular vote,” said iVoterGuide President Debbie Wuthnow. iVoterGuide is the nation’s premier Christian voting guide, offering carefully researched voter guides that outline every single candidate on the ballot to ensure educated voters at the polls. iVoterGuide partnered with Dr. George Barna to understand how Christians approach the ballot and better equip them to make educated votes. Barna’s study revealed the shocking truth about American Christians: when the name on the ballot is unfamiliar, Christians are among the most likely to not vote and skip that race entirely, allowing unqualified and ungodly candidates to fill important local and federal positions.

“Twenty percent of Americans think their votes are expendable, and that’s simply not true,” said Wuthnow. “iVoterGuide works alongside more than 70 partner organizations who share the same conviction: an informed voter is a faithful voter, from the top of the ballot to the very bottom. Our research with Dr. Barna revealed that 46% of Americans claim that lack of information is the number one reason they skip down-ballot races. The very future of America is at stake. It’s more vital than ever that Christians inform themselves about what’s on this year’s midterm ballots and go out to the polls in droves.”

iVoterGuide is uniquely positioned to fill the information gap voters are seeking. iVoterGuide builds in-depth, values-based research on thousands of candidates — not just the ones on the evening news, but a growing number of school board, city council, and county races that rarely get a single headline. Every candidate is presented with the same detailed questionnaire on the issues that matter most to Christian voters: life, family, religious liberty, education and the role of government. These answers are then tallied and presented as comprehensive voter guides, providing an invaluable look into where each candidate stands before voters step into the booth.

For those unsure of which candidates have earned their vote, iVoterGuide.com, a division of AFA Action, provides accurate, up-to-date information on thousands of candidates. iVoterGuide.com’s research and ratings can be extremely valuable in helping voters determine the distinctions between candidates.

iVoterGuide.com is dedicated to equipping Americans to be informed, educated voters and is a one-stop resource for candidate ratings and election information. iVoterGuide.com is known for its accuracy and integrity in researching and evaluating candidates and equipping Christians to vote wisely and be good stewards of their citizenship.

Hosted by iVoterGuide President Debbie Wuthnow and Rick Beggs, “The Compass” is iVoterGuide’s weekly conversation about the issues shaping the public square — produced in partnership with American Family Radio. Each episode unpacks what’s at stake for voters of faith and where biblical principles meet the news of the week.
