I want to talk to you about something that’s advancing faster than any of us expected – artificial intelligence.
When I first started hearing about AI, I thought it might just be another tool, like the internet or the smartphone – something that makes life a little more convenient. But the more I study AI, the more I realize: This isn’t like anything we’ve ever seen before. AI is a complete game-changer.
We’re talking about a technology that could replace over 50% of tasks in industries like sales and research, and 41% of employers worldwide are already planning to reduce their workforce because of it. That kind of job displacement isn’t theoretical. It’s coming. And unless we get serious about the moral side of this, we’re in trouble.
In a recent episode of At the Core, I broke down how Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill includes a 10-year moratorium on state-level AI regulations. That means even conservative states won’t be allowed to put up guardrails as this technology explodes. Combine that with tech leaders casually discussing brain chip implants and hacking into human memories, and it’s clear that we are heading into dangerous territory without a moral compass.
That’s why it’s critical we speak up now. AI is advancing, whether we’re ready for it or not. But if we leave the moral conversation out of it, we risk losing more than jobs. We risk losing what makes us human. Robots aren’t made in the image of God – we are. And it was humans who God commanded to take dominion over the earth, not machines. We cannot outsource that responsibility to technology. As Christians and conservatives, we must ensure our values shape the future, not get deleted from it.
