The Price of Everything in Oklahoma Will Skyrocket: Pay Attention on June 16
Cost of living. Cost of living. Cost of living. … This is the number one “pocketbook” issue for Oklahoma families. We are all feeling it. When we fill up the gas tank. When we go to the grocery store. When we’re on the road for summer vacation (or travel ball!).
Don’t worry. The Leftists in Oklahoma are not missing this opportunity to make things worse. Their solution to rising costs … is to increase costs even more. They are trying to do this by mandating an automatic minimum wage increase, which will be on the ballot on June 16.
It’s called State Question 832. If it passes, it will impose California’s job-killing minimum wage requirements on almost all Oklahoma small businesses, family farms and ranches, churches and nonprofits. Very few exceptions or exemptions!

SQ 832 would more than double Oklahoma’s minimum wage and continue pushing it up every year after, with no cap. The way you can know for certain that this is being driven by hard-Left, even socialist, groups is that the cap is NOT based on Oklahoma’s own economic conditions, but on a national price index “for urban wage earners.” That means the cost-of-living in places like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York and other extremely high-cost, urban cities will be used as the measuring stick. These are cities that are not just “Blue” or “Purple,” but “Deep Blue.”
According to iVoterGuide, SQ 832 is literally being funded by: The Democrat Socialists of America, Inc., the Oklahoma City Democratic Socialists of America, and other Hard-Left groups like the “Fairness” Project.
California, Oregon and Washington all have this horrible policy in place. And those states have some of the highest grocery prices in the country while Oklahoma currently has some of the lowest prices. If SQ 832 passes that will change – radically.
