In March 2022, grassroots activists intercepted a box containing 115 aborted children outside of Cesare Santangelo's Washington Surgi-Center in Foggy Bottom, D.C. The box was given to them by a whistleblower working for Curtis Bay Medical Waste Services, and the injuries observed on five nearly full-term babies recovered from the box suggest that they were either aborted through federally illegal methods or left to die after being born alive.
Recently, the Department of Justice advised the Washington, D.C., medical examiner to dispose of the babies' remains, according to a news release from U.S. Representative Chip Roy's (R-TX) media team.
"If a one-month-old child was discarded and tossed aside, imagine the horror, imagine the news stories you'd see on Fox, CNN, and local news," Roy told American Family News. "It's been almost two years, and the five unborn children who appeared to be aborted illegally in our nation's capital have still not received justice."
Roy said the delay indicates a cover-up from an administration that works hard to implement pro-abortion policies.

"These babies show very distinct signs of being aborted in violation of federal law, specifically the Born Alive Infant Protection Act and the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban," said Caroline Smith, head of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU), the organization that intercepted the box.

Thankfully, Rep. Roy, along with Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), demanded the remains of the children be preserved as evidence and a full investigation be performed to determine if the babies were aborted in violation of federal law. As a result, according to a Feb. 9 report from Live Action, the D.C. government said it was standing down, for now, from the DOJ's recommendation.
