Tell Oklahoma Lawmakers: Stop SB 368 Before Friday

Please contact your Oklahoma state lawmakers in the House and Senate and ask them to vote NO on any attempt to weaken Oklahoma's pro-life protections.

We get it. It's almost Memorial Day. End of school, vacation planning, graduations. Who's got time to pay attention to what the Oklahoma state legislature is doing?

Fortunately, we are paying attention. All session long, we have been fighting a bill (SB 834) that could gut Oklahoma's strong pro-life laws. That bill is SB 834 – and thanks to your hard work, SB 834 has been stopped in its tracks.

As the legislative session is rushing to an end, however, pro-abortion Republicans in Oklahoma are seeking to add pro-abortion language from SB 834 into another bill: SB 368.

Among other things, SB 368 already provides legislative authorization for the "morning-after" pill, which blocks implantation of a human embryo after conception. It's a bad bill.

To make matters MUCH WORSE, pro-abortion forces are seeking to add surgical abortion exceptions to SB 368. Basically, they are looking to insert SB 834 into SB 368 – and they are hoping you aren't paying attention.

Please contact your Oklahoma state lawmakers in the House and Senate and ask them to vote NO on any attempt to weaken Oklahoma's pro-life protections. The message needs to get to the House and Senate leadership that any covert attempts to legalize abortion in Oklahoma would be an insult to the pro-life voters who elected them to office.

We do not know the exact language that is being considered for SB 368. A select group of House and Senate members, under the careful watch of Speaker Charles McCall and Senate President Pro Tem Greg Treat, will decide on the final language.

How far will they go? Will they add a rape exception? Very likely. Will they add language that muddies the waters regarding a "medically necessary" abortion? This is very possible. Will they decide that certain children – who are "abnormal" in certain ways – do not deserve the right to life? This, also, is very possible.

Again, it all depends on how much they think you're paying attention.

Please contact your Oklahoma House and Senate members today and ask them to oppose any attempt to use SB 368 to create any abortion exceptions whatsoever.
