American Family Association Action (AFA Action), is a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to advancing biblical, family values in society and government by educating and influencing public policy. AFA Action is also the Governmental Affairs Affiliate of American Family Association (AFA).
The mission of AFA Action is to inform and mobilize individuals to strengthen the biblical foundations of America.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
God has communicated absolute truth to mankind, and all people are subject to the authority of God’s Word at all times. We believe that the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples are the greatest agents of change for any culture. Therefore, a culture based on biblical truth best serves the well-being of our nation and our families.
Walker Wildmon - Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board
Walker Wildmon serves as Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of AFA Action. He also serves as Vice President of Operations for American Family Association (AFA) and as a spokesperson for AFA and has been quoted by CNN, Fox News and other major news outlets. Walker graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Political Science. He calls Tupelo, Mississippi home and is beginning to raise a family there. Walker and his wife Lexie are happily married with three children.
Tim Wildmon - President Emeritus and Member of the Board
Tim Wildmon is President Emetitus of AFA Action. Tim is also President of American Family Association and American Family Radio. AFA is a national organization that advocates for the biblical teaching on morality and values. Tim host a daily program on AFR’s 180+ stations. He has been married to his wife Alison since 1984, lives in Tupelo, Mississippi, and has three children and seven grandchildren. He is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in journalism.
Rob Chambers - Executive Vice President and Member of the Board
Rob Chambers serves as Executive Vice President of AFA Action. Rob also serves as Vice President of Policy and Legislative Affairs for the American Family Association. Rob is an advocate for religious liberty and prolife legislation, and his focus is to educate, encourage, and mobilize Christians to engage the political process. In addition to studies in philosophy and religion, Rob also holds the Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Master of Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Debbie Wuthnow - Vice President and Member of the Board
Debbie joined AFA Action in 2021. She also serves as division President of iVoterGuide--AFA Action's online voter resource. In 2010, Debbie was instrumental in making iVoterGuide a national resource for voters. Under Debbie's leadership, iVoterGuide covered federal elections in all 50 states as well as statewide and legislative races in 21 states, researched over 8,000 candidates, and educated over 3.5 million voters across the country. Debbie holds a master’s degree from Princeton University.
Buddy Smith - Secretary-Treasurer and Chairman of the Board
Rev. Buddy Smith is Secretary-Treasurer of AFA Action. Buddy is also Senior Vice-President of American Family Association (AFA) and American Family Radio (AFR). Since 1993 Buddy has worked at AFA in the battle to restore America’s biblical foundations and to protect families from the immorality that threatens to rob our children of their future. He has an undergraduate degree in music education from Mississippi State University and a graduate degree in theology from Oral Roberts University. He has been married to his bride Carol since 1972. They have two grown children, Stacey and Casey, and five grandchildren.
Richard Ford - Member of the Board
Richard has dedicated his whole life to helping Christians be better stewards of their God-ordained authority to vote. Richard founded Heritage Alliance, known now as iVoterGuide, in 1983. Richard also helped lead the merger of iVoterGuide under the AFA Action umbrella in November 2021.
J.B. Horton - Member of the Board
Personally responsible for having raised over $100 million for the Heritage Foundation during his tenure there, J. B. now serves as Chief Development Officer for the Texas Public Policy Foundation. Becoming a part of the AFA Action board in 2021, J. B. uses his fund-raising expertise to promote conservative causes across the country.
